The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an American motorcycle rally held annually in Sturgis, South Dakota usually during the first full week of August. It began in 1938 and was originally held for stunts and races, but has evolved into being a meeting for motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world. It brings significant income to the citizens of Sturgis, a town of only 6,627 people as well as to the surrounding areas. It is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the world.
A lot of you are preparing for the 78th Anniversary of the famous Sturgis Rally. This has become a great event for those in attendance and certainly a great event for the state each year. I find it always an interesting time as you meet so many interesting people from all over the United States as well as people from other countries. What a great opportunity to welcome bikers from all over the world into your establishments.
On the other side of that, is the great responsibility this places on the business owners and their staff in serving alcohol during this “hectic” time of year and all that goes with that. We have been receiving calls in the last couple of months in preparing staff and volunteers to become TAM certified or to renew their certification. This is not only important during this time of year, but very important throughout the year.
Please call our office at any time if you are in need of a class for your staff to become certified. There are several options to consider in getting this done.
